“It’s a harsh and dramatic story which needs to be told.”

From the very beginning, this film grabs the viewer and doesn’t let go. It’s an exceptional piece which will not only educate viewers but also leave them emotionally connected to Jim and his family.

Director Nick Aldridge takes on the difficult subject of organ donation which explores the story of Jim Lynskey, a young man waiting for a heart transplant. What’s obvious here is the close bond between the both of them which only develops during the course of the film. This unique friendship makes for an even more compelling film which you don’t find often.

The way the film is crafted is incredibly intimate, creating a pure and authentic approach to the story which doesn’t hold back. It captures all the emotions and challenges of not only Jim but his family as well. From a production stand point, this must have been a difficult film to make as it deals with such raw emotions that most wouldn’t attempt.

Aldridge manages to pack a lot in to the relatively short 20 minute duration which will get viewers of any kind totally invested to hear Jim’s story. What they’ll be left with is a real understanding of Jim’s challenges in day to day life and the reality of organ donation. We hope that this compelling film works towards Jim’s ultimate goal of raising awareness so that others won’t suffer like he did.

The outcome of the film is not what any viewer would want, but does make Jim’s story all the more poignant and impacting for those that are not familiar with the subject. It’s a harsh and dramatic story which needs to be told. This is a film which should be seen by as many people as possible. Not just because of it’s bold topic but because of the powerful and emotional message it leaves with you. It’s a must watch. We’re proud to give this film 5 stars.
