December Press Release
Independent Film Festival Makes a Big Impact…
The highly anticipated APEX Film Awards took place on December 7th at the newly opened York Road Studios in Worthing, West Sussex, showcasing the very best in independent cinema, innovation, and creative storytelling. The evening celebrated filmmakers from around the world who have pushed the boundaries of visual storytelling, with awards presented across a range of categories including Best Drama, Comedy, Sci-Fi, Animation and more.
The event, which brought together filmmakers, industry professionals, and cinema enthusiasts, was proudly sponsored by the Home Cinema Alliance, a leading advocate for high-quality home cinema entertainment.
HCA Director, Stuart Burgess was equally impressed. “What a fantastic evening. It was an honour to be the headline sponsor of this year's APEX Film Awards, representing both our members and the event supporters. We love the synergy between our member companies, creating stunning Private Cinemas, and APEX showcasing Independent filmmakers. You never know; one of the award winners might be playing in one of our client's Cinemas one day. Already looking forward to next year.”
APEX Festival Director Jonathan Brooks explained, “This was truly a milestone in our festival journey by including global brands that showcased our award winners films with state of the art equipment. Not only does this pave the way for increasing our offer to filmmakers but also the quality standard we’ve set ourselves for the future. As filmmakers ourselves, we recognise the importance of screening indie films on high end equipment, as it’s often the only opportunity to experience them on the big screen.”
The night was filled with electrifying moments, with winners taking home not just awards, but recognition for their exceptional work in film. Guests were treated to a showcase of award-winning films, accompanied by high-fidelity sound and crystal-clear visuals provided by Sony and Bowers & Wilkins, ensuring a fully immersive experience for all attendees.
AWE, the leading UK audio visual distributor were onsite to support the installation. Director Paul Mott was in attendance. “It was a real pleasure to be at this year’s Apex Film Awards in Worthing. Bowers and Wilkins plus the fantastic Sony Bravia 8 projector really brought to life the soundtracks and immersive cinematography of these award-winning short films. A great showcase of independent films with some unique and thought-provoking works.”
The APEX Film Awards, now in its fourth year, has established itself as a premier event for celebrating groundbreaking films and the people behind them.
