Live Event Press Release
Film Festival Gets Support from Sony and Bowers & Wilkins…
Now in its fourth year, the APEX Film Awards showcases premium quality short films from filmmakers across the world in a range of genres.
Run by Worthing-based production company United Magic Studios, the festival is made by filmmakers for filmmakers and aims to become the go-to festival for filmmakers to enter their films in.
Festival Director and Filmmaker Jonathan Brooks said: “What makes our festival unique is that as filmmakers ourselves, we recognise what filmmakers want from a festival and how to make it a positive experience.
"Not only do we offer live screenings, but we also provide detailed reviews for our nominees with a focus on production to acknowledge the cast and crew, something not offered by other festivals.”
Originally an online-only festival, APEX has expanded quickly to facilitate live screenings for its award-winning selections and enhance its offer to filmmakers.
This year, the festival is being held at the new Worthing film and photography facility York Road Studio which opened up in York Road just a few months ago. This hidden gem is the perfect place for guests to experience films they’d never have the chance to see anywhere else, in a studio environment.
APEX is making waves on the film festival circuit and now has support from both Sony and Bowers & Wilkins, who are providing state-of-the-art audio/visual equipment for the live event to showcase the films and enhance the overall experience.
Leading smart home specialists AWE Europe are involved with the installation and logistics during the event to maximise the viewing experience along with the Home Cinema Alliance who are the head sponsor.
Stuart Burgess, founder of Home Cinema Alliance, said: “We jumped at getting involved with the APEX Film Awards as the synergy between their industry of showcasing amazing cinematic films, and our members who build amazing Private Cinema Rooms was a perfect match."
Managing Director of AWE Europe, Stuart Tickle, added: “We’re proud to support the APEX Film Awards alongside two of the leading brands we represent, Bowers & Wilkins and Sony, as well as the Home Cinema Alliance.
"Content is at the heart of every professional home cinema installation; these awards shine a spotlight on independent filmmakers whose work could be streaming onto our clients’ screens in the future. Wishing success to all the finalists!”
The event takes place on Saturday, December 7 from 6pm at York Road Studio on Worthing seafront. For tickets and for more information visit www.instagram.com/apexfilmawards
